What we do
A magician gives the party a centrepiece moment
A party with a magic show has a beginning, a middle and an end: the children arrive and play, sit for the show, then eat cake with the show as the thing they talk about. For ages four to twelve it is the booking that makes a party feel like an occasion.
Event Creation books comedy magicians for birthdays, schools, libraries, community events and corporate family days across Toronto and the GTA. The magic show is listed on this website from $305 for a performance of about 30 to 45 minutes.
Shows are built around audience participation, with the birthday child brought up as the star and plenty of volunteers from the crowd.
The experience
What a kids’ magic show includes
Comedy magic
Tricks that go wrong on purpose, props that misbehave and a magician who plays the fool so the children feel clever.
Audience volunteers
Children are brought up throughout the show; the birthday child performs the final trick.
Birthday finale
A finale built around the birthday child, with an optional balloon, rabbit or dove appearance.
Age-matched
Shows are adjusted for the age range in the room, from preschool to pre-teen.
Setup
The magician brings a table, props and a small sound system if needed, and needs about 10 x 10 ft of floor.

Magic shows at home, in halls and schools
A living room or basement in North York, Vaughan or Markham with the furniture moved is enough for a home party. Halls and community centres in Scarborough and Mississauga take larger shows with the children seated on the floor and parents behind.
Schools and libraries book shows for 50 to 200 children with a sound system. Outdoors, a tent or a shaded spot works; wind and sun make props and attention wander.
The magician needs about 10 x 10 ft of floor, a table and, for larger rooms, a power outlet.

Questions that make the quote exact

- How many children, and what ages?
- How long should the performance run, and when in the party?
- Where will it happen, and is there a clear floor space of about 10 x 10 ft?

- Any sensitivities to loud sounds, smoke effects or surprises?
- What else happens at the same time: food, cake, other entertainment?
Occasions
Magic for birthdays, schools and family days
Kids’ birthdays for ages four to twelve are the main booking, with the show timed before the cake. Communions and holiday parties follow.
Schools, daycares and libraries book shows for end-of-year events; corporate family days and grand openings use a strolling magician for the crowd.
For teen parties and adult parties, close-up magic at tables works better than a stage show.
