The occasion
A reception that honours the ceremony and keeps the children busy
A baptism or communion reception has two audiences: the family and godparents who want an elegant, photographed celebration, and the cousins who need something to do. The decor leans white, ivory, gold and a soft accent colour; the entertainment is a face painter or a balloon twister in a corner.
Event Creation designs baptism, christening and first communion receptions at halls, restaurants and homes across Toronto and the GTA. A 12 ft balloon garland is listed on this website from $250, a circle arch with balloons from $280, a balloon centrepiece from $20 per table and a balloon twister from $200.
Florals, the cake table and the backdrop with the child’s name are quoted as one design.

Venues
Church halls, restaurants and homes
Church halls across the GTA have their own rules for decor and setup time, which we confirm first; most allow free-standing pieces and table decor. Restaurants in Vaughan, Mississauga, North York and Scarborough take a garland, a backdrop and centrepieces set up before the reservation.
Home receptions use the living room for the backdrop and the dining table for the cake.
We time the setup between the service and the arrival of guests where the reception follows directly.
