What we do
Anniversary decorations for couples, families and surprise hosts
Anniversary decorations should say two things at a glance: who is being celebrated and how many years they have shared. Event Creation is a Toronto event decoration company, and for anniversaries we design the backdrop, the milestone numbers, the table styling and the photo area, then deliver, install and take it down. You choose how much of the day you want us to handle, from a single arch to the full room.
Most inquiries come from adult children planning a party for their parents, from couples hosting their own celebration, and from one partner arranging a surprise for the other. Each of those hosts has a different worry. Children want it to feel worthy of the milestone, couples want it elegant and not fussy, and surprise planners need everything in place before a precise arrival time. We plan for all three.

The hero moment
Start with the number and the couple beside it
The photograph that gets framed after an anniversary is the couple standing next to their number. Our 4 ft marquee numbers are made of wood with LED lights, in digits 0 to 9, and the catalogue lists one or two numbers styled with balloons. Two digits cover every milestone from 10 to 50 and beyond. The warm glow of the bulbs is kind to skin tones and needs only a nearby outlet.
What sits behind the numbers sets the tone. A shimmer wall in gold or silver suits an evening party in a hall. A circle arch with a cluster of balloons, a flower or pampas bunch and the couple's names feels softer and more romantic, and works in a living room. Adding the Better Together neon sign from our event extras gives the picture a line of text without any custom production.
Place the setup where the couple will naturally be the centre of attention, often behind or beside the head table, and check what the camera sees. A fire exit sign, a television or a stack of spare chairs in the background spoils a lovely design. Allow enough width for the whole family to gather around the couple, because the group photo with children and grandchildren is the second picture everyone wants.

Ideas for a first, 25th and 50th anniversary
The year being celebrated suggests a palette and a scale. Tradition links the 25th to silver and the 50th to gold, and many families enjoy using those cues, but none of it is compulsory. We always start from the couple's own taste, their wedding colours if they want to echo them, and the size of the room.
Early years and intimate dinners
For a first, fifth or tenth anniversary the setting is often a dining room, a condo party room or a restaurant table. Keep it restrained: a circle arch or a modest garland, a neon sign, candles supplied by the venue or host, and low centrepieces. Anniversary balloons in soft neutrals with one accent colour look grown up. If this is a surprise, we coordinate arrival and departure times with whoever holds the keys.
The 25th anniversary
Silver is forgiving and modern. For 25th anniversary decorations we like a silver shimmer wall with white, grey and chrome balloons, the two marquee digits in front, and clear or white table details so the room feels bright. Add a single colour from the original wedding, perhaps in the florals, to make the link between then and now. A display of wedding photos on white plinths gives guests something to gather around.
The 50th anniversary
Gold can turn heavy if everything is metallic, so 50th anniversary decorations work well with gold as the accent against ivory, champagne and soft green. Think about the guests: many will be older, so keep walkways wide, avoid trailing cables and seat the couple where they can be seen without standing for long. Fresh floral styling is available by custom quote through our flower decorations service.

The evening moment
A first dance, decades later
If there is dancing, the couple's dance is the emotional peak of the night, and it deserves a little staging. Our dry ice service creates a low fog that sits at floor level, so the couple appears to be dancing on a cloud while faces and photographs stay clear. It is listed in 5 minute and 15 minute options, and the listing includes delivery, setup, operation and takedown.
Timing matters more than duration. Agree on the song with the DJ or host, cue the fog a few moments before the couple step out, and ask guests to stay back from the floor so the effect is not dispersed. Some venues restrict fog effects or have sensitive alarm systems, so please check first. Venue rules and our on-site team's guidance apply to dry ice on the day.
Room and guests
Layout, comfort and surprise logistics
Anniversary party decorations need to work for every generation in the room. Keep centrepieces below eye level so grandparents can see and hear across the table. Put the photo area away from the speakers so people can talk while they wait, and give the couple a seat with a clear view of any slideshow or speeches. If toddlers are coming, a balloon twister from our entertainment range keeps small hands away from the display.
A photo booth earns its place at an anniversary because it collects pictures of everyone, not only the couple. The classic booth prints on the spot, which many families turn into a guest book. It needs an outlet, a wall and room for a short line. At a restaurant, confirm with the manager that there is space and that setup can happen before other diners arrive.
Surprises succeed on logistics. We need to know who will let our team in, when the couple is expected and where guests will park so the driveway does not give the game away. Build in a buffer between the end of setup and the arrival. If the couple is renewing vows as part of the day, our wedding page covers ceremony styling, which we design without assuming balloons belong in it.
Before you book
Venue and logistics questions to settle
Bring these answers to your first conversation with us and the quote will be quicker and more accurate.
- Which anniversary is it, and do you want the number displayed?
- Is the party a surprise, and if so, who is our contact and what is the arrival time?
- Where is it being held: a home, a restaurant, a hall or a place of worship's social room?
- What colours does the couple love, and do you want to echo their wedding palette?
- Where will the head table or couple's seating be, and what is behind it?
- Is there a power outlet near the backdrop for LED numbers or a neon sign?
- Does the venue allow helium balloons, fog effects and freestanding backdrops?
- What time can we set up, and when must the space be cleared?
- Are there stairs, a narrow entrance or paid parking that our delivery team should know about?

Questions
Anniversary: Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from couples and families planning an anniversary celebration in Toronto and the GTA.
How much do anniversary decorations cost?
It depends on the pieces you choose, and our listings give a realistic starting point. Website-listed starting prices include a 5.5 ft circle arch with balloon decoration from $280, one 4 ft marquee number with balloons from $320, two numbers from $390 and a shimmer wall backdrop with balloons from $420. The final price depends on location, timing, size and customization, and we confirm it in a written quote for your event.
Can you display the anniversary year in lights?
Yes, our marquee numbers are 4 ft high, made of wood with LED lights, and available in digits 0 to 9. The catalogue lists one number with balloon decoration from $320 and two numbers from $390, including delivery, installation and takedown. Two digits cover milestones such as 10, 25, 40 and 50, and a single digit suits the early years. The numbers need a power outlet nearby and a level floor, indoors or under cover.
What colours work for a 25th or 50th anniversary?
Silver is the traditional colour for a 25th and gold for a 50th, and both adapt well to modern styling. We pair silver with white and soft grey, and gold with ivory, champagne or green, so the room does not look entirely metallic. None of this is a rule. Many couples prefer their original wedding colours or simply their favourite shades, and we design from whatever feels most like them.
Do you provide fresh flowers for anniversaries?
Yes, fresh floral styling is available by custom quote. Because flowers depend on the season, the size of the arrangements and the number of tables, we do not publish prices for them. Our catalogue does list an artificial flower and candle centrepiece on a square stand, a flower stand rental in a set of three heights, and a flower or pampas bunch add-on from $45 on several balloon backdrop products.
Can you set up for a surprise anniversary party?
Yes, and the plan revolves around timing. We need a contact person other than the couple, access to the venue ahead of the arrival and a clear idea of when the couple will walk in. We schedule the installation to finish with a buffer before that time. If the party is at the couple's own home, tell us how long they will be out so we can advise on a realistic design.
What is the dry ice effect, and is it suitable for our venue?
It is a low fog that sits at floor level for a first dance or entrance, listed from $350 for 5 minutes and $550 for 15 minutes, including delivery, setup, operation and takedown. Suitability depends on the venue. Some halls and restaurants restrict fog effects or have sensitive alarm systems, so please ask the manager first. Venue rules and our on-site team's guidance apply on the day.
Can you decorate a restaurant or banquet hall?
Yes, we decorate private rooms, restaurants and banquet halls as well as homes. Ask the venue when suppliers can enter, which walls or corners may be used, and what their policy is on helium balloons and freestanding backdrops. Restaurants often have short setup windows between services, so a freestanding arch or marquee numbers that install quickly can be a better choice than a large wall.
Is delivery, installation and takedown included?
It depends on the product, and we state it item by item. The circle arch, marquee number, balloon garland and shimmer wall listings include delivery, installation and takedown. Dry ice includes delivery, setup, operation and takedown. Both photo booths include setup and teardown. Prices may vary with the event location and time, so your quote confirms what is covered for your address and schedule.
Which photo booth suits an anniversary party?
The classic photo booth suits most anniversaries because guests of every age understand it, and the instant prints can be collected as a keepsake for the couple. It is listed from $410 for 2 hours. The 360 video booth, from $400 for 2 hours, suits larger, livelier parties with a dance floor. Guests can also ask us about availability of a mirror photo booth when requesting a quote.
Can you add our names or wedding date to the backdrop?
Yes, a custom name on the backdrop is listed as a $35 add-on on the circle arch, marquee number and several other balloon backdrop products. Send us the exact wording and spelling when you confirm. For a ready-made message, the Better Together neon sign is available to rent, and a neon sign can be added to several backdrop products as a $35 add-on. Larger custom backdrops are quoted individually.
How far in advance should we book?
As soon as the date and venue are fixed is the safest answer. Availability depends on the day and on the size of the installation, and weekends in late spring, summer and December tend to be in higher demand. We do not publish a minimum lead time for decor. The 360 video booth listing states that booking should be made at least 2 weeks before the event.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Toronto and the GTA from 126 Willowdale Ave in Toronto. Our team travels across the GTA, including North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Ajax and Oshawa. Prices may vary with the event location and time, and the 360 video booth listing notes that travel is extra outside the GTA. Please include the venue address with your inquiry so the quote reflects it.
Can anniversary balloons be used at an outdoor party?
Yes, with some care. Sun, heat and wind shorten the life of balloons, so we recommend a shaded, sheltered position and installation close to the start of the party. LED marquee numbers and neon signs must stay dry and need a power source. We always ask for a covered backup location in case of rain. Venue rules and our on-site team's guidance apply to helium and anchoring.
How do we get started?
Send us the date, venue, guest count and anniversary year through our contact form, by phone at (416) 230-9723 or by email at Info@EventCreation.ca. After a form submission we contact you within 24 hours, and we are available 7 days a week. We then suggest a concept built around one hero photo moment and prepare a quote, and we confirm details and next steps when you request a quote.
