The occasion
A proposal is one minute, and everything is built for it
Unlike a party, a proposal has no guests to entertain and no evening to fill. It has one moment, one place, one angle for the photo and a time window in which the room must be ready and empty. The decor is simple and the logistics are everything.
Event Creation plans and installs proposals at homes, hotel rooms, rooftops, private dining rooms, gardens and waterfront spots across Toronto and the GTA. A circle arch with balloons is listed on this website from $280, a 12 ft garland from $250 and room decoration from $200; florals, candles, petals and the Marry Me sign are quoted as one setup.
We handle access, timing, the photographer’s position and the backup plan, and we are gone before the two of you arrive.

Logistics
Timing, access and the backup plan
We need the room or the spot for about 60 to 90 minutes before the moment, and a way to keep your partner away until it is ready. Hotels downtown and in Mississauga and Vaughan are used to this; restaurants need the private room booked for the window; outdoor spots need a weather plan.
The photographer’s position is planned with the setup so the arch, the sign and the two of you are in the frame. If you have no photographer, we can suggest where a friend should stand.
For outdoor proposals we agree a backup indoor location in advance and move the setup if the forecast turns.

Before you book
Details that make the plan exact
Have these ready when you reach out.
- The exact location and who controls access.
- The time your partner will arrive, and how you will keep them away before that.
- Indoor or outdoor, and a backup location if outdoors.
- Who takes the photos and video, and from where.
- Colours, flowers and any words for the sign.
- What happens next: dinner, a party, a hotel room.
Afterwards
From the yes to the engagement party
Many proposals continue into a dinner for two, a surprise engagement party with family waiting in the next room, or a styled hotel room. We plan both parts so the second surprise is ready when the first ends.
A musician for the moment, a champagne table and fresh flowers to take home are the usual additions.
