    What we do

Why the ceiling is the most underused part of a room

Walls get a backdrop, tables get centrepieces, and the ceiling, which is in every wide photo and every video of the room, usually gets nothing. Ceiling balloons change the feel of a space more than any other single piece because they are everywhere the camera points.

Event Creation installs ceiling balloon garlands, floating helium ceilings and hanging clusters in homes, condo party rooms, restaurants, halls and offices across Toronto and the GTA. Our 10 ft ceiling balloon garland is listed on this website from $250, with 15 ft and longer from $320.

Ceiling work is planned around how the room is lit and how high the ceiling is. We check both before we quote, so the design you approve is the design that fits.

    The hero moment

Four ways to decorate a ceiling with balloons

    Ceiling garland

An organic garland suspended along a beam, a light fixture or a wire we run across the room. It follows the shape of the space: a straight run above a head table, a curve over a dance floor or a ring around a chandelier.

    Floating helium ceiling

Dozens of helium balloons with ribbons released to the ceiling so the whole surface is covered and the ribbons hang at head height or above. This is the classic look for New Year’s Eve, milestone birthdays and surprise parties.

    Hanging clusters

Groups of three to seven balloons hung at different heights from the ceiling, often with tassels or confetti balloons. Clusters work in rooms where a full ceiling would be too much and in restaurants that allow limited decor.

    Balloon canopy

A dense balloon ceiling over one zone, usually the dessert table, the cake table or the entrance, so that zone reads as the centre of the room.

    Venues

Ceiling height, fixtures and what each room can take

Eight-foot ceilings in condo party rooms and houses take a garland along one wall or a ring of hanging clusters; a full floating helium ceiling at that height puts ribbons in people’s faces, so we shorten the ribbons or use fewer balloons. Halls and restaurants with ten to fourteen foot ceilings take everything on this page.

We attach to beams, existing fixtures and our own tension lines, never with anything that marks a ceiling. Rooms with smoke detectors close to the ceiling and rooms with air conditioning vents directly above the garland need a little planning, which is why we ask for a photo.

Helium balloons are not used outdoors or in rooms with ceiling fans running.

    Before you book

Questions that make the quote exact

Answer these when you reach out and we can confirm the design in one reply.

    • How high is the ceiling, and are there beams, fixtures or a drop ceiling?
    • Where will the head table, the dance floor or the dessert table sit?
    • Are there ceiling fans, vents or smoke detectors near the planned spot?
    • What time can we access the room, and is there a ladder-safe floor?
    • Does the venue allow helium balloons?
    • Does the room need to be cleared the same night?

    Occasions

Ceiling balloons for parties, launches and celebrations

A floating helium ceiling is the signature of a New Year’s Eve party or a surprise party, where guests walk in under a ceiling of colour. Milestone birthdays take a garland over the head table with marquee numbers below.

Kids’ birthdays work with hanging clusters in theme colours; baby showers and gender reveals use pastel canopies over the dessert table.

For corporate events, product launches and grand openings, a ceiling garland in brand colours ties the whole venue to the brand without covering the walls.

    Questions

    Ceiling balloons: frequently asked questions

What people ask before booking a ceiling design.

How much do ceiling balloons cost in Toronto?

Our 10 ft ceiling balloon garland is listed from $250 and 15 ft and longer from $320. A floating helium ceiling is quoted by the number of balloons and the room size. We confirm the figure in writing.

How do you get balloons to stay on the ceiling?

Helium balloons float on their own and we tie ribbons to the length you want. Air-filled garlands and clusters are suspended from beams, fixtures or our own tension lines with hooks and clear line, without marking the ceiling.

How long do helium ceiling balloons last?

Latex helium balloons float well for the length of an evening and usually into the next day; treated balloons and foil balloons last longer. Heat and fans shorten float time, so we install as close to the start as the venue allows.

Can you do a ceiling in a condo party room with an eight-foot ceiling?

Yes. We use a garland along the wall or hanging clusters with short drops rather than a full floating ceiling, so the design does not get in the way of guests.

Do you need a ladder or a lift?

A standard ladder covers most rooms up to about twelve feet. Taller halls may need a lift, which we confirm with the venue in advance.

Does the venue need to approve ceiling balloons?

Usually yes. Most venues allow free-standing and suspended decor but want to know in advance. We can send the venue a short description of what we hang and how.

Can ceiling balloons be combined with lights?

Yes. Fairy lights woven into a garland or uplighting under a helium ceiling both work well, and we plan the power with the venue.

Do you take the balloons down afterwards?

Where takedown is part of your listing, yes. Helium balloons and ribbons are removed and disposed of, and garland lines come down with them.

    Which areas do you serve?

Toronto and the GTA, including North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and Oakville.

How far ahead should I book?

Once your date and venue are fixed. Weekends in spring and summer and the last two weeks of December book earliest. Call for short-notice dates.
