    The occasion

The pre-wedding nights are the most colourful events of the wedding

The mehndi, the sangeet, the haldi and the dholki are where the colour lives: marigold, fuchsia, orange, turquoise and gold, low seating, a swing for the bride, umbrellas and lanterns overhead and a stage for the dances. The wedding itself is formal; these nights are joyful, and the decor is built for the photos and the dancing.

Event Creation designs mehndi, sangeet, haldi, dholki and other pre-wedding celebrations for South Asian, Persian, Arabic and mixed families at homes, backyards, halls and venues across Toronto and the GTA. A shimmer wall backdrop with balloons is listed on this website from $420, a 12 ft garland from $250 and balloon centrepieces from $20 per table; marigold stages, low seating, swings and ceilings are quoted as one design.

Dancers, a DJ who knows the music, a dhol player and a dessert table are booked with the decor.

    Venues

Pre-wedding nights at home, in backyards, halls and venues

Home and backyard mehndis in Scarborough, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and Etobicoke use a tent or a living room with the furniture moved, a low stage and a ceiling of umbrellas or lanterns. Halls in Mississauga, Scarborough and Vaughan take a full stage, a dance floor and centrepieces for a sangeet.

Backyard events need a tent, weighted pieces and silk marigolds in summer heat; we plan for rain.

We coordinate with the hall or the family on setup windows, often the morning of the event.

    Questions

Mehndi and pre-wedding decorations: frequently asked questions

    Stages, swings and cost.

How much does mehndi decoration cost in Toronto?

A shimmer wall backdrop with balloons is listed from $420, a garland from $250 and centrepieces from $20 per table on this website. A marigold stage with low seating, a swing and a ceiling is quoted as one design in writing.

Can you decorate a backyard mehndi?

Yes. A tent, a low stage, an umbrella or lantern ceiling, weighted pieces and silk marigolds for summer heat, with a rain plan.

Do you provide the swing and low seating?

Yes, as part of the stage design, quoted with the florals.

Can you do a haldi setup?

Yes. Yellow and marigold florals, a low seat under a canopy and a backdrop made for the turmeric photos.

Can you book a DJ with dhol and dancers?

Yes. A DJ who knows the music, a dhol player and Bollywood or bhangra dancers with a teaching segment.

Do you decorate Persian and Arabic pre-wedding events?

    Which areas do you serve?

Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and Oakville.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to three months in wedding season; the mehndi is usually booked with the wedding decor.
