    What we do

Live music changes how a moment feels

A string quartet at the ceremony, a jazz trio during cocktails, a singer for the first dance and a band for the reception: live music marks the parts of an event that recorded music cannot. It is also what guests remember when they describe the day.

Event Creation books musicians and bands for weddings, engagement parties, corporate events, galas, private dinners and cultural celebrations across Toronto and the GTA. Musicians are quoted by set length, ensemble size and equipment.

We coordinate the musicians with the DJ, the timeline and the venue’s sound rules so the handovers are smooth.

    Venues

Live music in halls, restaurants, outdoors and at home

Acoustic ensembles work almost anywhere, including restaurants and homes with no sound system. Bands need power, space and a venue that allows amplified music past dinner.

Outdoor ceremonies in Oakville, Markham and Vaughan need shade for instruments and a rain plan; strings in particular cannot sit in sun or drizzle.

We confirm sound limits and curfews with the venue before booking the ensemble.

Questions that make the quote exact

Answer these when you reach out.

    • How many guests, and how many hours of music?
    • Which styles, languages or specific songs matter, and which should be avoided?
    • Does the venue have sound restrictions, a curfew or its own system?
    • Where will the performer set up, and is there power nearby?
    • Are there entrances, speeches or a first dance to time around?
    • Indoor or outdoor, and is there shelter?

    Occasions

Live music for weddings, corporate events and celebrations

Weddings are the main booking: ceremony, cocktail hour and sometimes the reception. Engagement parties, anniversaries and proposals book a soloist or a duo.

Galas, conferences, appreciation events and corporate holiday parties book jazz trios and bands.

Nowruz, mehndi, Diwali and Lunar New Year events book musicians from the tradition.

    Questions

    Live music: frequently asked questions

    Ensembles, timing and logistics.

How much does live music cost for an event in Toronto?

It is quoted by set length, ensemble size and equipment. A soloist for a ceremony costs less than a band for a reception. Tell us the moments and we send a written quote.

Live band or DJ for a wedding?

Many weddings book both: live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, a DJ for the reception. A band for the reception suits larger rooms and bigger budgets.

    How long do musicians play?

Ceremony sets are about 30 to 45 minutes including prelude; cocktail sets one to two hours; bands play in sets with breaks across the reception.

Can musicians learn a specific song?

Yes, with notice. Tell us the song when you book.

Do musicians need a sound system?

Acoustic ensembles usually do not; bands and singers bring their own or use the venue’s.

    Can live music be outdoors?

Yes, with shade and a rain plan; strings and pianos need protection from sun and damp.

Do you book musicians for cultural events?

Yes. Persian, South Asian, Arabic, Latin and East Asian musicians for weddings and celebrations.

Can the musicians and the DJ share equipment?

Often, yes. We coordinate the handover so there is no gap.

    Which areas do you serve?

Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and Oakville.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to four months for wedding ensembles in peak season; shorter for private events.
