    What we do

People dance where there is a floor and stay seated where there is not

A dance floor tells guests where the party is. On grass, carpet or a crowded hall nobody dances; on a defined floor under lights, everybody does. A riser does the same for a speaker, a head table or a performer: it puts them where the room can see them.

Event Creation supplies portable dance floors, risers and small stages with the decor for events across Toronto and the GTA. Floors and staging are quoted with the order by size, surface and site; we build them before the decor goes in and strike them after the last guest leaves.

The floor is styled with the room: a garland at the DJ, uplighting at the edges, a backdrop behind the stage.

    Weddings

How many dancers, and on what ground?

Tell us the guest count, the venue and the surface. We size the floor or stage, plan the lighting and quote it with the decor.

    Sizing and site

How big the floor should be

Plan on about a third to a half of guests dancing at once and roughly four square feet each: a 12 by 12 floor suits about 50 to 70 guests, 16 by 16 about 100 to 130, 20 by 20 about 150 to 200. A smaller floor looks fuller and photographs better than a half-empty large one.

Floors need a firm, level base; on grass we lay a subfloor. Stages need the ceiling height for a backdrop and a clear path for whoever climbs the steps. Power is needed for lighting and the DJ.

Build takes one to three hours depending on size; strike is quicker and happens after the event or the next morning.
