    Team building events

Team building events in Toronto, planned and set up for you

Team building events in Toronto work best when the people who organize them can take part too. Event Creation is an event decor and planning studio in North York. For a team day we take on the parts that eat the most time: finding or preparing the space, the decor, the photo booth, the music and entertainment, the rentals and the staff on the day, so your HR or office team can spend it with their colleagues.

Every event starts from your brief: the size of the team, the date, whether it happens at the office, at a venue or outdoors, and what the day is for. Welcoming new hires, marking a target, thanking a department after a busy quarter or simply getting people who work apart into one room all call for a different setup. We send a written concept and a quote your finance team can approve.

Already have an activity, a speaker or a facilitator booked? We set the room around it: seating, sound and microphones, a stage or a dance floor, food and drink stations and a photo moment for the group shot.

    Indoor and outdoor

Indoor and outdoor team building in Toronto

Indoors: offices, hotels, halls and restaurants

Hotel function rooms, banquet halls, restaurant private rooms and your own office all work for a team event, and each has its own rules. Tell us about the loading dock booking, the freight elevator, security sign-in and the name of the on-site contact, and we schedule load-in around them. Downtown towers and hotels often allow equipment only through the dock at set times, so we plan the setup before the room opens to your team.

Outdoors: parks, patios and company sites

Outdoor team days need a tent, weighted decor, shade for entertainers and a plan for the weather. Grass takes tent stakes; pavement and decks take weights. We check the ground, the access path for the truck and the nearest outlet, then size the tent for the headcount and the food, and plan where the bouncy castle or the games go so they stay in sight of the tent.

    Across the GTA

We set up team events in downtown Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Oakville and the rest of the GTA. For guidance on outdoor planning, read how to plan an outdoor party in Toronto.

    Photos

The group photo and the booth

The photos are what a team keeps from the day. A photo wall in your colours gives everyone the same background for the group shot, and a branded booth turns small groups into prints and clips with your logo on them. Guests share their photos by QR code, text or email at the booth, and you receive the full gallery afterwards for internal communications.

For daytime events, we place the booth near the food or the entrance, where people pass often. For an evening event, we keep it running until the dance floor fills. A 360 video booth suits a younger team that likes short clips; a classic photo booth with props suits mixed groups and families; a mirror photo booth suits a dressier evening.

For a team that wants something to listen back to, an audio guest book collects short voice messages, for example for a colleague who is retiring or a department marking a milestone.

    How it works

How a team building booking runs

    1. Brief

Headcount, date, hours, the venue or site, and what the day is for.

    2. Concept and quote

A written concept with the decor, the booth, the entertainment and the rentals, priced per element.

    3. Approval

You approve the concept and the artwork with your logo; we confirm vendors and arrival times.

    4. Setup

We follow the building or site rules and finish before your team arrives.

    5. Takedown

We clear the room or the lawn at the end, on the schedule agreed with the venue.

    Questions

Team building events: frequently asked questions

Ideas, formats, venues, timing and quotes for team building events in Toronto.

    Ideas for Toronto teams

What are some good team building events in Toronto?

Good team building events give people time together outside their usual roles. In Toronto that often means a summer social in a park, a family day with entertainment for children, an evening at a venue with music and a dance segment, or a team milestone celebration with a group photo. We plan, decorate and equip each of these formats.

What are some fun and corporate team building activities in Toronto?

Activities that get everyone involved without putting anyone on the spot work well: a dance segment led by the performers, contests run by an MC, games at a summer social and a photo booth where small groups make their own prints and clips. We bring these to offices, venues and parks across the GTA.

What are some good team bonding activities in Toronto?

Team bonding comes easier when people can talk and do something together at the same time. A relaxed social with food, music at a volume people can talk over and a photo booth gives small groups a reason to mix, and a group photo at the end gives everyone something to keep.

What are some ideas for team outings in Toronto?

A park day in summer with a tent, games and a DJ, an evening in a restaurant private room or a rented venue, or a family day where staff bring their children. For each, we look after the space, the decor, the entertainment and the rentals.

What are some good corporate events to have in Toronto?

Holiday parties, employee appreciation days, family days, summer socials, team milestone celebrations, client receptions and networking evenings are common corporate events in Toronto. Each has its own page on this website, linked from our corporate events page.

What are some fun team building activities?

Fun activities are the ones people join without being pushed: dancing when the performers invite the room in, a friendly contest run by a good MC, a photo booth with props or a 360 video platform, and lawn games at an outdoor social. Keep each one short and optional.

What is a fun activity for a large team?

For a large team, choose something many people can do at once or in quick turns: a dance segment on a dance floor, an MC-led contest from a stage, or a photo booth with an attendant who keeps the line moving. Two booths in different parts of the room can spread a large group out.

What are some creative group activities for adults?

Creative group activities give adults something to make together. A 360 video clip filmed as a group, a group photo in front of a wall in the team colours, or voice messages recorded on an audio guest book for a colleague all give people a small creative task.

What are the four main types of team building?

Team building is often grouped into activity-based events, skills-based training, personality or communication workshops and problem-solving challenges. Event Creation plans and sets up activity-based team events: socials, family days, milestone celebrations and evenings at a venue.

    Formats and settings

What are indoor team building ideas in Toronto?

Indoors, an afternoon in the office with a styled lobby and a photo booth, an evening in a restaurant private room or a rented venue with a DJ and a dance floor, or a hotel function room for a larger group all work in any season.

What are outdoor team building ideas in Toronto?

Outdoors, a summer social in a park or on a company lot with a tent, games, a DJ and a drinks table, or a family day with a bouncy castle, face painting and a balloon twister. We plan the tent, the power and a weather plan.

What are good summer team building activities?

Summer suits outdoor socials: a tent for shade and food, lawn games, a DJ and a styled drinks table, with entertainment for children if families are invited. Book early, because tents and entertainers fill up for June to August weekends.

Can you plan team building for a small group?

Yes. A small team suits a restaurant private room, a meeting room at the office or a backyard, with a smaller decor setup, a photo booth or music, and a quote sized for the group.

Can you plan a team building event downtown Toronto?

Yes. We set up in downtown offices, hotels and venues, and plan load-in around the loading dock booking, the freight elevator and the building security rules.

Can we hold the team event at our office during work hours?

Yes. We set up before your team arrives, keep music at a level that suits the building, and clear the space at the agreed time. Daytime events in offices, warehouses and campuses run the same way as evening events.

Can remote team members join a team building event?

Yes. We plan hybrid and virtual events with a streamed program and a set that reads well on camera, so people in other offices or at home can follow the speeches and the recognition moments.

Can families and children come to a company team day?

Yes. For family days we add a separate zone with a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon twisting or a character appearance, within sight of the parents, and an MC to run announcements and contests.

    Planning, quotes and areas

What does Event Creation do for a team building event?

We plan, decorate and equip the event: the venue or site, the timeline and on-site coordination, decor in your brand colours, photo booths, music and entertainment, tents and rentals, and staff for check-in and the food line.

How much does a team building event cost in Toronto?

It depends on the headcount, the venue, the hours and what you book. Some items have starting prices listed on our pages, for example the classic photo booth from $410 for two hours; the rest is quoted in writing after we see your brief.

How far ahead should we book a team building event?

Four to eight weeks is usually enough for an indoor event. Outdoor summer events and December dates need more time, because tents, booths and entertainers book early for those weeks.

Can you add our company branding to the event?

Yes. Your logo and colours can go on balloon columns and garlands, welcome signs, the photo wall and the booth overlay. We send the artwork for approval before the event.

Can you work with a facilitator or activity we already booked?

Yes. Send us their requirements and timing. We set the room around them with seating, sound and microphones, a stage or floor space, and schedule the decor and the booth so they never compete with the activity.

Which areas do you serve for team building events?

Downtown Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Oakville and the rest of the GTA, from our studio at 126 Willowdale Ave in North York.
