Our work

What we do
Cultural event decor in Toronto, directed by your family
Toronto celebrates something almost every week of the year, and each family marks its occasions in its own way. Our approach to cultural event decor Toronto hosts ask us for is simple: you bring the tradition, the colours and the references, and we bring the building blocks and the hands to install them. Event Creation is a decoration company. We design backdrops, balloon work, table styling and photo areas, and we deliver, set up and take down.
This page is for families hosting at home or in a banquet hall, for couples planning pre-wedding events, and for associations, student groups and congregations organizing community gatherings. If you already have a clear picture of how the room should look, we will build it. If you only have a palette and a guest count, we will propose a concept and refine it with you until it feels right to the people who matter.

See mehndi and pre-wedding celebrationsHow we work
We work from your family's traditions, not our assumptions
We do not claim religious or ritual expertise, and we will not tell you what your celebration should look like. Two families marking the same festival can want entirely different rooms, depending on region, generation and personal taste. So we ask. Send us photos from past celebrations, invitations, fabrics or a relative's description, and tell us which colours, motifs and words are welcome and which should be avoided.
We also do not supply ritual or ceremonial items. Lamps, candles, prayer items, a haft-sin table, a menorah, sacred images or offerings stay in your family's hands, as they should. What we can do is give those items a fitting setting: a clear table or white plinths at the right height, a backdrop that frames them without crowding them, and a layout that keeps guests and decor at a respectful distance.
Tell us about any customs our installers should observe on site. That might mean removing shoes, keeping certain areas clear, working around prayer or ceremony times, or finishing setup before sunset. Knowing this at the quote stage lets us schedule properly. If wording in another language appears on a sign or backdrop, we ask you to supply and approve the exact text, because spelling and script deserve to be right.

Occasions
Celebrations we are asked to decorate
The notes below are starting points drawn from common requests, not rules. Many of these dates move each year with lunar or religious calendars, so please tell us your exact date and time when you inquire, and correct us freely if your family does things differently.
Diwali
Requests for Diwali decorations often centre on light and warm colour: golds, oranges, pinks and jewel tones. A shimmer wall or fabric backdrop with a balloon garland in your chosen palette makes a strong family photo area for a home open house or a hall party. Your own lamps and rangoli remain the heart of the room, and we plan the floor layout so guests do not walk through them.
Eid
For Eid decorations, families tell us the palette, which is frequently green, gold, white or soft pastels, and any motifs they would like included. A photo backdrop near the entrance, balloon centrepieces on the dining tables and a dessert table on plinths suit a lunch or an evening gathering. For community Eid events with many children, a face painter or balloon twister from our entertainment range is a thoughtful addition.
Nowruz and Lunar New Year
Nowruz gatherings usually feature the family's own haft-sin table, and our role is to frame it with spring colour, greenery such as a green wall backdrop, and tidy styling around it. Lunar New Year decorations are commonly requested in red and gold, and marquee numbers or a custom backdrop work well for restaurant banquets and association dinners. In both cases the symbols and greetings come from you.
Christmas and Hanukkah gatherings
Winter parties at home, in offices and in community halls benefit from a single strong photo spot. Families hosting Christmas gatherings often ask for reds, greens and metallics, and families hosting Hanukkah gatherings often ask for blue, white and silver. We build balloon and backdrop designs in the palette you choose, and leave trees, menorahs and other meaningful pieces to the household.
Quinceañera
A Quinceañera revolves around the young woman being celebrated, so her chosen colour drives the Quinceañera decorations. Two 4 ft marquee numbers reading 15, a shimmer wall or circle arch for portraits, and a 360 video booth for her friends create a lively reception. We keep content and styling age-appropriate, and we fit our setup around the family's own schedule for the day.
Mehndi, sangeet and community galas
Pre-wedding events call for colour and a focal seating area for the couple. For mehndi decor we can provide a backdrop, balloon work if you want it, plinths and floral styling by quote, while full mandap or stage construction is outside our catalogue. Community galas and fundraisers need a welcome moment, a sponsor-friendly photo wall and clear guest flow, much like our corporate events.

The hero moment
One photo area for every generation
At cultural celebrations the picture people treasure is the family portrait: grandparents seated, parents behind, children in front, everyone dressed for the occasion. That makes the photo backdrop the hero moment. We size it for groups, not individuals, which usually means a full-width wall or a wide arch with a bench or chairs you supply, and enough floor in front for a photographer to step back.
Festive clothing is often richly coloured and detailed, so the backdrop should support it. If outfits will be bright, a calmer background such as a green wall, ivory fabric or a single-colour shimmer wall lets them stand out. If guests will wear white or neutrals, the backdrop can carry the colour. Tell us what the family plans to wear and we will balance the palette accordingly.
Venues and timing
Halls, community spaces and homes across the GTA
Banquet halls across the GTA, from Scarborough and Markham to Mississauga, Vaughan, Oakville, Ajax and Oshawa, host large family events most weekends, and many run two bookings in a day. Ask your hall when decorators can enter and when the room must be cleared. Community centres and social halls attached to places of worship often have their own rules on wall fixings, helium, open flame and access hours, and we follow them.
At home, space is the constraint. A garland around a doorway, a compact circle arch in the living room and a styled dessert table on plinths can transform a house without blocking the routes guests use. For outdoor or backyard gatherings, heat, wind and rain affect balloons and electrics, so we ask for a covered backup. Venue rules and our on-site team's guidance apply to helium and anything that needs anchoring.
Before you book
Venue and logistics questions to settle
These answers help us respect your customs and give you an accurate quote.
- What is the occasion, and what is the exact date and start time this year?
- Which colours, motifs and wording are welcome, and is there anything we should avoid?
- Which ritual or family items will you bring, and where should space be kept clear for them?
- Are there customs our installers should observe on site, such as removing shoes or pausing at certain times?
- Where will family portraits be taken, and how many people need to fit in the frame?
- When can decorators enter the venue, and when must everything be removed?
- Does the venue restrict helium, wall fixings, fog effects or open flame?
- Is there power near the photo area for LED numbers, neon signs or a photo booth?
- Will children attend, and would a supervised activity corner be helpful?

Questions
Cultural Celebrations: Frequently Asked Questions
Questions families and community organizers ask us about decorating cultural celebrations in Toronto and the GTA.
Do you have experience with my culture's traditions?
We do not claim specialist religious or cultural expertise, and we think that is the honest answer for any decorator to give. What we offer is careful listening and reliable installation. You tell us how your family celebrates, which colours, motifs and words belong in the room, and what should be avoided. We then design the backdrops, balloon work and table styling around those references and confirm everything with you before the day.
Do you supply ritual or religious items?
No, we do not supply ritual or ceremonial items. Lamps, candles, prayer items, a haft-sin table, a menorah, sacred images and offerings are provided and arranged by your family or community. Our part is the setting around them: plinths or a clear table at a suitable height, a backdrop that frames the display, and a floor layout that keeps guests and decor from crowding it.
How much does decor for a cultural celebration cost?
It depends on the scale, and our listings give a starting point. Website-listed starting prices include a 12 ft balloon garland from $250, a circle arch from $280, a green wall backdrop with balloons from $380 and a shimmer wall backdrop with balloons from $420. The final price depends on location, timing, size and customization, so we confirm the figure in a written quote once we know your venue and design.
Can you match specific colours that matter to us?
Yes, balloon and backdrop colours are chosen to your palette as closely as available ranges allow, and we confirm the selection with you before the event. Please tell us if particular colours carry meaning for the occasion, or if any should be left out. Photos of outfits, invitations or fabrics help a great deal, because a shade described in words can be interpreted in several ways.
Can you decorate for Diwali or Eid at home?
Yes, we set up in private homes as well as halls. For a home Diwali or Eid gathering, compact pieces suit the space: a garland around a doorway or staircase, a circle arch or shimmer wall for family photos, and a dessert table styled on plinths. Tell us about stairs, parking and the room dimensions. We plan the layout so that your own lamps, displays and prayer areas remain undisturbed.
Can you include text in another language on the backdrop?
Yes, provided you supply and approve the exact text. A custom name or letters on a backdrop is listed as a $35 add-on on several balloon backdrop products, and larger custom backdrops are handled by quote. Because we cannot verify spelling, script or meaning in every language, we ask a family member to check a proof. That small step protects the greeting or name from errors.
Do you build mandaps, stages or ceremonial structures?
No, stage and mandap construction is outside our catalogue and would need a specialist supplier. We can complement those structures with backdrops, balloon work where you want it, plinths, rentals and floral styling by custom quote. For a mehndi or sangeet we usually suggest focusing on the couple's seating backdrop, the entrance and a photo area. We are glad to coordinate timing with your other vendors.
How early should we book around festival dates?
As early as you can, because many families celebrate on the same few days and halls fill their schedules. Festival dates often change from year to year, so give us the exact date and time. We do not publish a minimum lead time for decor, and availability depends on the day. The 360 video booth listing states that it should be booked at least 2 weeks before the event.
Can you work around prayer or ceremony times?
Yes, we schedule installation and takedown around the times you give us. Let us know at the quote stage if setup must finish before sunset, pause during prayers or avoid a ceremony in an adjoining room. Also tell us about on-site customs, such as removing shoes or keeping certain areas clear. Our installers will follow the guidance of your family or the venue's representative on the day.
Do you decorate community galas and association dinners?
Yes, we decorate cultural association dinners, student society events, fundraisers and community galas. These usually need a welcome moment at the entrance, a wide photo wall that can sit beside sponsor signage you provide, centrepieces for many tables and sometimes a photo booth. Committees receive an itemized quote that is easy to review. Planning and coordination for larger programs is available by custom quote.
What entertainment do you offer for children?
Our catalogue lists balloon twisters from $200 for 1 hour, face painting from $220 for 1.5 hours, magic shows from $305 for 1 hour and bubble shows from $330 for 45 minutes, along with character and mascot appearances. All content is kept age-appropriate. A children's corner set slightly apart from the main room lets adults follow speeches and the meal while children stay engaged nearby.
Is delivery, installation and takedown included?
It depends on the product, and we state it for each item. Our shimmer wall, green wall, wood panel, circle arch, garland and marquee number listings include delivery, installation and takedown. Both photo booths include setup and teardown, and the entertainment listings are priced by duration. Prices may vary with the event location and time, so the written quote confirms exactly what is covered for your venue and schedule.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Toronto and the GTA from 126 Willowdale Ave in Toronto. Our team travels across the GTA, including North York, Scarborough, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, Ajax and Oshawa. Prices may vary with the event location and time, and the 360 video booth listing notes that travel is extra outside the GTA. Include your venue address in the inquiry so we can quote accurately.
How do we start?

After a form submission we contact you within 24 hours, and we are available 7 days a week.
